Conference “Textile Industry – Weaving a Sustainable Future”
NITextile was present at the Conference “Textile Industry – Weaving a Sustainable Future” promoted by APCER in partnership with ATP.
The general concepts of sustainability in the textile sector and the existing strategies and tools that allow us to move towards true sustainability in the sector were discussed.
The importance of implementing standards and certifications that allow monitoring the impact of the industry was highlighted, of which we highlight raw material certifications (Textile Exchange, FSC), the assessment of the carbon footprint and the adoption of sustainability reports.
The conference was closed by a round table with the participation of Vera Sampaio – Fafedry, Isabel Domingues – Riopele and Nuno Lima – TMG Automotive, where the vision of each company, the strategies and the different approaches to comply with the internal or external requirement of achieving a more sustainable, measurable and above all credible production/process were discussed.
NITextile would like to thank APCER and ATP for promoting these themes, which are fundamental to the Textile sector, so that it can shape and prepare itself for future challenges for the sector and society.
