Systemic Vision and Industry

Systemic Vision and Industry

System Thinking is an innovative methodology that responds to the complexity of today’s challenges and can support the analysis of factors that influence industry performance. In a simple way, it is the understanding of a phenomenon within a context.

Systemic vision is seen as the ability to see the company in a broad way and, in this way, identify the existing processes, how they work, how the sectors are integrated, the way in which the production and delivery of products or services to the consumer and the market takes place.

In the systemic view, it is necessary to destructure problems, to better understand their process and its deviations, through 4 phases:

  1. Event: is the visible level of the problem where it is perceived by the people involved in the process, and it is based on this event that they explain what is happening.
  2. Behavior Patterns: which occur based on the event that happened and to which people react immediately with actions that need to be evaluated in the long term, as well as their implications.
  3. Systemic Structures: is the structural understanding of the situation, where parameters are provided that allow improving interventions and leveraging behavior change.
  4. Mental Models: these are structures that influence the entire process, and it is necessary to identify how they are generated and influenced, in order to understand and modify them.

To implement a change management process it is necessary to understand the current reality, have a vision of the future with the construction of robust strategies, in order to promote systemic change, where each individual has an important role in achieving the goals.

  1. Think more about the whole than about the parts.
  2. Encourage relationships more than objects.
  3. Promote the understanding of reality as networks rather than hierarchy.
  4. Value cellular systems more than linear ones.
  5. Focus more on the dynamics of the underlying processes rather than the static structure.
  6. View the world as a living organism, rather than as a machine.

Systems thinking appears as an inventive and promising approach for the industry that is inserted in an increasingly globalized, competitive and constantly changing environment, where innovative solutions that guarantee economic viability, social justice and environmental sustainability are prioritized.

  • Deeper understanding of systems.
  • Identification of patterns and dynamics.
  • More effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Adaptation and resilience.
  • Collaboration and cooperation.
  • Interdisciplinary approach.
  • Prevention and anticipation of problems.

The systems view offers a powerful and versatile approach to tackling complex and interdependent problems, providing valuable insights and more effective and sustainable solutions.
